Centrifugal Chillers

Centrifugal chillers are central to the development of HVAC systems for large projects, and are usually the most efficient way to cool a large building. Most design engineers are likely to come across centrifugal and screw chillers quite early in their careers working on large HVAC projects.

Screw Chillers
A complex and energy efficient cooling system, the screw chiller is a kind of compressor that is recommended for use in large HVAC projects. Screw chillers occupy relatively less space when compared to ODUs of individual split air conditioners, with the compressor being the major bulk of the unit.

EFFICIENT COOLING FOR COMPLEX PROJECTS

Screw chillers can cool buildings of different capacities efficiently, providing optimal levels of cooling and consuming less energy than using a number of ODUs.

Most residential or commercial buildings have individual occupants on different floors, and each floor is usually air conditioned separately based on the budgets and needs of the occupants.

Installation of a screw chiller on the roof of a high-rise building, on the other hand, can be much more efficient, neat, quiet and easy to maintain. By metering each occupant individually, only required chiller capacity is used.

Variable Refrigerant Flow Systems

FLEXIBILITY AND INDIVIDUAL CONTROL

Built with a DC inverter in the converter, VRF systems support flexible motor speeds, as a result of which the HVAC system can provide variable refrigerant flow rather than simply on/off operation.
As a result of this variable operation, VRF units are much more efficient. They provide for considerable energy savings, especially under full load. Heat recovery VRF systems provide even more energy savings.

VRFs allow for effective control by each individual occupant of the building.

Reciprocating Compressors
UPSPL’s experience with HVAC projects puts us in a great place to recommend the right chillers, compressors and air handling units for your specific requirements. This is especially true when it comes to complex compressor technology.

Reciprocating compressors, in most cases and for most applications, are regarded as the most energy efficient compressor type, though they are typically associated with a higher rate and cost of maintenance. Expense calculations, therefore, are needed in order to balance recurring energy and maintenance costs to identify the most cost-effective solution for each project.

10TR-5000TR

UPSPL is fully equipped to take on projects of size from 10TR to 5000TR. (‘TR’ indicates the combined ‘Tonne Rating’ of all the AHUs (Air Handling Units) required to outfit the project.)

To air condition the rooms of a medium-sized apartment could require AHUs of around 10TR or above, as individual Split air conditioners or a simple central air conditioning solution. Huge commercial or retail projects could stretch to 5000TR of AHUs as part of a comprehensive packaged air conditioning solution.

Selection of the right Chillers and AHUs for larger projects is crucial.

Revit

PLANNING AND PREPARATION

Our expertise in engineering design plays a major role in the planning phase of any project. When it comes to creating the right solution, we take initial costs, running costs, eco-friendliness, and more factors into consideration.

Revit offers BIM 360 Design, and provides for 3D visualization of the project including floor plans and elevations. As contributors participate and update project files, all changes are automatically shared with all collaborators. The software also includes tools for MEP, architectural and structural design, engineering and construction.

ADVANCED SOFTWARE FOR 3D ENGINEERING DRAWINGS

During the planning process, UPSPL’s capable team creates very detailed, accurate engineering design across multidisciplinary teams, often across locations, with the help of advanced software such as AutoCAD and REVIT.

Using REVIT, design intent can be captured efficiently and effectively in consistent, complete 3D model-based building designs and documentation.

REFINED CONSTRUCTION WORKFLOW

The complex design sketches are made available during the procurement and execution process to ensure better coordination and efficient engineering, as site-level decisions are kept to a minimum.
